After studying ceramics at Derby College of Art and undertaking a travelling scholarship to Japan, he built an internationally recognised career exhibiting, teaching, and consulting both in Ireland and abroad. His work has been exhibited with Ceramics Ireland, at Showcase Ireland, the Common Earth Ceramics Exhibition, and The Museum of Modern Art, as well as in exhibitions across Europe, Japan, Australia, and the United States.
