Weeks 1–4: Foundations & Basic Forms
Students are introduced to clay, tools, and studio safety, learning essential skills such as wedging, centering, opening, and pulling up walls. Early weeks focus on shaping simple forms like bowls, cups, and small cylinders, with an emphasis on proportion, symmetry, and control on the wheel.

Week 5: Trimming, Handles & Attachments
Learn to refine leather-hard pieces through trimming, adding foot rings, and attaching handles or decorative elements using scoring and slip techniques.

Weeks 6–10: Advanced Form Exploration & Practice
Focus on developing more complex forms, experimenting with curves, flares, and texture. Students refine their individual style, troubleshoot techniques, and repeat favourite forms to build confidence and consistency.

Weeks 11–12: Glazing & Course Wrap-Up
Explore glazing techniques, surface finishes, and application methods on your final pieces. Complete your collection, review skills learned, and discuss next steps for continuing your wheel practice or studio membership.

By the end of the course, participants will have developed confidence on the wheel, a collection of up to 10 finished pieces, and a solid foundation in both throwing and glazing techniques, all within a supportive and structured learning environment. Pieces will be ready for collection approximately 4-6 weeks after the final glaze date.
