    I was gifted a wheel-throwing taster class, I owe my sister a huge thankyou! This was an absolute delight. The studio is an inspiration all in itself. Our teacher Vinh was patient, clear and helpful. Our group was made feel welcome and relaxed, there were a lot of laughs - I think we all made something. I was nervous before arriving and did have moments of doubt during but I found that if I focused on what Vinh said to do, the thing worked out. I highly recommend this class. I am going back to take a 6 week course - very excited.

    Newbie to using clay but wanted to give it a try and so went to my first taster wheel throwing class back in June and knew then that I had to come back and do a course. The space is so welcoming and feels like a little retreat from the busy world outside. When I started my wheel throwing course in August each week Lucy (our amazing teacher) showed us how to shape and mould the clay on the wheel, we were also shown how to trim and glaze our finished pieces. Loved the experience and now I have 5 beautiful pieces! Looking forward to more time on the wheel at Throwing Shapes!!

    I did the wheel throwing taster class this weekend and absolutely loved it! From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and inspired. The studio is spacious and well-equipped, with a calm and encouraging atmosphere that made it easy to focus and enjoy the class. The teacher, Noel, was incredibly knowledgeable and patient, guiding us through each step (multiple times). Noel was so helpful and enthusiastic, he made sure that everyone had a piece to take home at the end! It was also amazing to see other students/members creations around the studio! Dublin City really needed a creative space like this and I’m already looking forward to signing up for another class/course. I highly recommend this class for anyone looking to try something new or improve their pottery skills! It was a gorgeous way to spend a Saturday afternoon ☺️

    Joining Throwing Shapes studio has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself in a long time! Everyone there is warm and welcoming —the sense of community here is truly special. The staff, in particular are incredibly skilled and always ready with helpful advice when you need it.     If you’ve ever wondered where your inner artist—and maybe a tiny bit of your dignity—can be safely lost in a glob of clay, then Throwing Shapes is your place. I joined as a member in July 2024, and I honestly haven’t looked back.The vibe is perfect: part art studio, part therapy session, and all-around pottery heaven. The entire team, especially Siofra and Emma, are amazing. Their infectious energy makes you believe you’re on the brink of discovering your true ceramic calling (even if you accidentally make a mug that looks like it was hit by a small truck).The community is really great — it’s a group of wonderfully welcoming people, and you’ll leave with not only new pottery skills but also gorgeous new friends.If you’re looking to throw some shapes (literally), meet some incredible people, and have a good laugh at the expense of your *beautifully unique* creations, this is the spot. Plus, at the end of it all, you might leave with a new mug, which is *definitely* not going to match your dinnerware, but will always spark joy, Marie Kondo style.

    I've been doing the evening wheel throwing classes with Vinh and I've been having the best time. The studio is warm, welcoming and puts a beginners at ease. The studio is spacious and well laid out as well as very clean. As an instructor Vinh is very knowledgeable and patient and is happy to sit with students so then can understand how to throw. There is a wonderful mix of students works available to view as well as teachers and members which is very inspiring for a beginner. As a beginner pottery I find the studio to be very inspiring while also accessible and welcoming. I always leave each class excited and inspired to come back next week and learn more.

    Throwing Shapes has been an incredible discovery for me, I originally booked a session for my team, thinking it would be a good way to step away from work for a bit. What I didn’t expect was to walk away from that first class with goosebumps, realising I’d found exactly what I needed. I’ve since signed up for a wheel throwing course and I’m loving it. I can’t wait to finish it so I can become a member and start going more often. Pottery (so far) has given me a way to reconnect with my inner child, getting my hands dirty for three hours straight is honestly the most grounding and brilliant experience I’ve had in years. If you’re looking for something that’s both therapeutic and inspiring, I couldn’t recommend Throwing Shapes enough.

    This isn't an average studio - it's like a cozy hangout spot where you'll meet lots of creative people. I've been a member since the studio first opened in May last year and made great friends since joining. It's a very delightful and cheerful place. The studio has great equipments (like heat gun and extruder) and glazes to let you make anything, from hand-built pieces to wheel-thrown ones. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly. If you can come once or twice a week, you should consider becoming a member—it's really worth the money. For ceramic newbies, the studio offers plenty of courses to help you begin the journey.

    We're so lucky to have a space like Throwing Shapes in Dublin! It's a gorgeous community ceramics studio where you can choose your own pottery adventure, whether that's a one day class, a longer course, or even a recurring membership. The facilities are excellent, and all of their teachers are so warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Taking my first course there in 2024 was a highlight of my year, and I'm excited to get back in...

    So… I am bit of a groupie at this stage, and totally obsessed with the place. It started with their Christmas market...got some lovely pieces of pottery while supporting local and small creative geniuses. Then I’ve signed up for weekend class with Simon. The whole group was lovely and Simon made the whole experience super relaxed and enjoyable. Seriously planing now to become a member, they’ll have to chase me out of that place with a stick :)
