About Alan:
Alan Clarke is a sculptor, illustrator, and art educator whose lifelong devotion to the human form has shaped a career spanning continents and disciplines. Born into a family of artists, Alan began as a commercial illustrator before gradually evolving into fine art and, ultimately, sculpture.

Working from life in clay, Alan’s sculptures are at once energetic and sensitive, capturing the complexity, subtlety, and expressive potential of the human body. His practice combines a deep knowledge of materials and anatomy with an in-depth understanding of drawing, design, and three-dimensional form.

Alan has worked and taught in studios across Italy, England, Spain, Portugal, and Russia. His award-winning work has been exhibited internationally, and a significant archive of his drawings is held in Ireland’s national collection. He regularly leads sculpture workshops around the world and currently teaches drawing fundamentals at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin.

Join us for this intimate and insightful evening as Alan shares his journey, influences, and approach to sculpting the human form - a rare chance to hear from an artist whose technical mastery and thoughtful observation continue to inspire students and audiences.
