We’re thrilled to announce the next edition of our Talking Clay series, featuring the brilliant Irish ceramic artist Mike Byrne! Join us on Thursday, December 12th, from 6-7 pm at our studio for an inspiring evening of conversation, insight and perhaps even a live demo.

Mike Byrne’s journey in ceramics began with his graduation in Ceramic Design from the Limerick School of Art and Design in 1977, followed by work at the Kilkenny Design Workshops and as a designer in the ceramics industry. Over the years, he’s balanced his creative practice with teaching and has exhibited widely both in Ireland and internationally. His works can be found in collections at the Ulster Museum, University of Limerick, AIB, and more. Since 2015, Mike has been fully dedicated to his practice, based in Limerick City and continues to innovate in ceramics and printmaking.

Currently on a residency in Berlin, Mike will share insights about his work, discuss his creative journey and answer questions from our audience. We can’t wait to welcome Mike to Throwing Shapes.
