Led by expert instructor Lucy, this 6-week course is perfect for total beginners looking to build a solid foundation in wheel-thrown ceramics. You’ll learn to wedge, throw, trim, and glaze your own pieces, turning a lump of clay into finished pots, 5 of which you'll choose to keep. Each session runs for 2.5 hours weekly and is geared towards beginners, but open to all. After completing our 6 week course you can become a member at the studio. The course will teach you to throw, trim, wedge and glaze clay.

Please see our FAQ and T&Cs below before getting in touch.

Level 1 | Foundational Skills

Ideal for those who’ve completed a taster session or first timers. This course offers a structured and in-depth learning experience over six weeks, focusing on essential techniques in wheel throwing. You'll build confidence with form, process, and studio practice in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Includes 15 hours of teaching time, clay, tools, and firing/glazing for up to 5 pieces. Classes are kept small from 6 to 9 participants, to ensure individual guidance and space to develop your skills. On completion, you’ll have the experience needed to become a studio member.
