Emma McKeagney
Studio Manager
she/herEmma McKeagney is an artist and art facilitator who has been an integral part of Throwing Shapes since it opened in May 2024. As Studio Manager, she ensures that everything runs smoothly, from managing systems and answering emails to making sure staff, members, and visitors are all happy out! With a background as an artist, event manager and art facilitator, Emma brings her expertise and enthusiasm to every aspect of her role, fostering a vibrant and efficient studio environment.
A graduate of IADT in 2017, Emma has built an impressive career at the intersection of art, science, and health. From 2023-2024, she served as Artist-in-Residence at Mercer's Institute of Successful Ageing in St. James's Hospital. Her artistic work has been exhibited in Helsinki, Dublin, and Sligo with notable organizations such as RuaRed, Pallas Projects, and The Complex. Emma's first solo exhibition, Unstable Categories, was part of Pallas Projects' Artist-Initiated Projects in 2018. She has received prestigious awards, including the Arts Council Agility Award, the Firestation Sculpture Award, Talbot Studios Most Promising Graduate Award and has won a Percent Scheme Sculpture Commission in a National School in Dublin. At Throwing Shapes, Emma loves talking with the community and meeting the faces who make the studio such a fun place to work.
